About
We exist to make the right kind of technology.
Openmind is a UK technology company. We build products at the intersection of human wellbeing and modern software — starting with what people genuinely need, then building the best possible thing to meet it.
Our story
Why Openmind exists
Openmind was founded on a simple belief: that the most urgent challenge in technology isn't what we can build — it's what we should build.
We live in an era of extraordinary technical capability. Software can do almost anything. The question worth obsessing over isn't the 'can' — it's the 'should'. What genuinely helps people? What makes a real difference to how someone feels, thinks, and lives?
Our first answer to that question was Selah — a breathwork and meditation app rooted in ancient pranayama practices, built with the care and craft that modern software rarely extends to personal wellbeing.
It won't be our last answer. We're a company that starts with questions and builds carefully from there.
Mission
Technology for human flourishing.
How we think
Principles that guide us
Depth over noise
We build products with substance. Every feature exists because a person genuinely needs it — not to look impressive on a spec sheet. Depth requires saying no to almost everything.
Clarity as craft
Simplicity is a discipline, not a shortcut. The hardest design decisions are always the things we chose not to include. We believe a product that does three things brilliantly is worth more than one that does thirty things adequately.
Humanity first
Our users aren't sessions or DAUs. They're people — with stress, ambition, families, and a desire to live well. Every design decision passes through a single question: does this genuinely serve the person on the other side?
Built to last
We move carefully and build durably. Quick wins that create long-term problems aren't wins at all. We're building things we'd still be proud of in ten years.
Where we're headed
A focused portfolio,
built with care.
We're building a portfolio of products rooted in one conviction: that technology is most powerful when it helps people become more fully themselves.
Selah is our first product. It won't be our last. Each new product we build will start from the same question — what does the world genuinely need? — and work backwards from there.
We're not trying to build the biggest company. We're trying to build the best one.
